Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Cancellation Before First Charge
If you cancel your landscaping service agreement at any time before your first payment is processed, you will owe nothing. Your card will not be charged and all associated data will be removed per our Privacy Policy.
2. Cancellation After First Charge
- You may cancel at any time by providing 48 hours written notice via email to cancel@shinobilandscaping.ca or through your portal account settings.
- No refunds are issued for the current billing period in progress at the time of cancellation.
- Monthly subscribers will not be charged for the next billing cycle if notice is received at least 48 hours before the billing date.
- Upfront (full-season) payments are non-refundable after the first service visit has been completed.
- Upfront payments where no service visits have occurred may be eligible for a pro-rated refund at our discretion, minus a $49 CAD administrative fee.
3. Service Quality Issues
If a service visit did not meet the standard described in your contract, contact us within 48 hours of the visit. We will, at our sole discretion, either:
- Return to re-perform the service at no charge, or
- Apply a credit to your next invoice equal to the value of that service visit.
Cash refunds for individual service quality complaints are not provided except in cases of demonstrable property damage caused by our crew.
4. Property Damage Claims
If you believe our crew caused damage to your property, notify us within 72 hours with photos. We will investigate and respond within 5 business days. Substantiated claims are settled in accordance with our liability insurance. Our maximum liability per incident is capped at the value of a single service visit, as stated in our Terms of Service.
5. Failed Payments
- If a scheduled payment fails, we will notify you immediately via your preferred contact method (email or SMS).
- You have 3 business days to update your payment information.
- Service is suspended (not cancelled) during this period and resumes automatically upon successful payment.
- If payment is not resolved within 7 days, the contract is cancelled and any outstanding balance remains due.
6. Force Majeure
No refunds or credits are issued for service delays caused by extreme weather, government-mandated closures, equipment emergencies, or other events outside our reasonable control. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to reschedule affected visits.
7. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

- Response time: All requests acknowledged within 1 business day.
8. Ontario Consumer Protection
This policy is governed by the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and the Electronic Commerce Act, 2000. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may contact the Ontario Ministry of Public and Business Service Deliveryor file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
